Turn a song into notes and tabs, stem by stem

The song is split into stems, and the stems become notes and tabs: guitar and bass as tablature, a cursor that follows the player, and any bar slowed down and looped.

Turning a full mix into notes rarely works: guitar, bass and keys play at once, and transcription software mixes up their notes. Qildo works the other way round — it splits the song into stems first, then turns those stems into notes and tabs. It doesn't work for every song yet — for now, about one song in five — but the tabs are tied to the recording itself: the cursor follows the sound and the part can be heard on its own.

Guitar and bass are shown as tablature with standard notation; set “My tuning” in your account and the tab is re-laid for drop D, a seven- or eight-string guitar, or a five- or six-string bass. Slow down and loop the hard bar, mute your part and play the tabs along with the band. Notes can be edited on the page, downloaded as Guitar Pro, MusicXML or MIDI, and printed to PDF.

What you can do

Tabs that follow the recording

The cursor moves with the player — at half speed and inside an A–B loop too.

In your tuning

“My tuning” re-lays the tab for your instrument: a 6-, 7- or 8-string guitar, a 4-, 5- or 6-string bass, any tuning per string.

Guitar Pro, MusicXML, MIDI, PDF

Open the notes in any notation editor or print them; fix a wrong note right on the page.

How to do it

  1. 1

Upload a song or paste a link

MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A or OGG up to 200 MB — or a link to a YouTube, RuTube or VK video. Sign in with a code sent to your email, no password.

  2. 2

    Wait a few minutes

The processing runs on our side. You can close the tab — we'll email you a link when the stems are ready.

  3. 3

    Press “View”

When the stems have become notes, a “This song has notes and tabs” window pops up. Press “View” and the “Notes & tabs” section opens under the player.

FAQ

Which songs get notes?

Not every song yet: for now Qildo turns the stems into notes and tabs about one song in five. For the rest you still get the separated stems, slow-down and the loop to learn the part by ear.

Are notes and tabs free?

Your first song with notes is free. After that notes and tabs come with Pro, together with quality mode, 15 tracks a day and 30-day storage. Stems and the player are free: 3 tracks a day.

Can I edit the notes?

Yes, with “Edit”: change notes with the mouse on the page and the score and tabs are recomputed in a couple of seconds. On a phone you can view and play along; editing is on a computer.

What formats can I download?

Guitar Pro, MusicXML (opens in MuseScore and other notation editors) and MIDI; the score can be printed to PDF.

Do I need to sign up?

Not to try it: upload a song right on this page — the stems are ready in 2–3 minutes and you can listen. To listen without interruptions, download and keep your tracks, sign in with a code sent to your email or with Google or Yandex — free, no password.
